Tracker Configuration

Before the device can communicate with taakGPS, it must be configured to talk to the cellular network.

SIM Installation

Insert an M2M or standard SIM card with the PIN code disabled.

APN Setup

Send a command to the tracker via SMS to set the carrier's APN (Access Point Name).

Frequency

Set the data upload interval (e.g., every 30 seconds) to balance battery life and real-time accuracy.

Connecting to taakGPS Servers

The final step is pointing your hardware to our cloud infrastructure so all encrypted data packets are processed and displayed on your map.

Each hardware model uses a specific port (e.g., Port 5023 for Concox, 5027 for Teltonika)

Unique Identifier

Enter the IMEI number found on your device sticker into your new account dashboard

Pro Tip: Once the device is pointed to our server, the status icon in your dashboard will turn Green, indicating a successful handshake and live data stream.
